Wardrobe Measuring Guide

Follow these tips to make sure you take an accurate measurement.

• Ask someone to help you measure. It’s easier with two people.
• Keep the tape measure tight, if it sags your measurements may be wrong.
• Work in millimetres, it’s more accurate.
• Check each measurement at least once.

We strongly recommend that you use one of our installation configuration designs in the wardrobe builder which then means we only need the aperture sizes as we will do all of the calculations.

• Measure at the point doors will run, not against the back of the wall. (This is normally 600 / 640mm from the back wall)

If you are not using one of our installation designs then you will need to

• Allow for any coving or skirting boards, you may need to remove these as your doors need to run wall to wall (or end panel) or fit liners which are available at checkout but you must remember to subtract 18mm per liner.
• If you are not fitting wall to wall, measure your width to where you want your wardrobe to end.
• Don’t measure until you’ve finished any major decorating or plastering.
• Remember that if you’re going to change the carpet or lay new flooring this might affect the height.
• Remember smallest on the height and largest measurement on the width

Here at Sliding Wardrobes 2U we recommend using Liners (sometimes called strike plates)
